Common questions

Do I need an account?

No. Flows works without one, and everything stays on your device. An account is only for syncing your plans between your iPhone, iPad and Mac. You can sign in with Apple, with Google, with a passkey, or with a 6-digit code we email you.

How do I see my Google, Outlook or work calendar?

Flows reads the calendars on your device. On iPhone or iPad, add the account in the Settings app under Apps, then Calendar, then Calendar Accounts (choose Google for Google, or Microsoft Exchange for Outlook and Microsoft 365), and turn on Calendars. On a Mac, use System Settings, then Internet Accounts. Then choose how Flows uses each one in Flows' Settings, under Calendars.

Can Flows bring in my diagnoses?

Yes, if your healthcare provider supports Health Records. Connect the provider in the Health app (tap your picture, then Health Records), then in Flows go to Settings, Health profile, Conditions and symptoms, and tap Import from Health Records. You can also pick conditions from Flows' list or type your own.

How do I save reflections to Apple Journal?

Apple doesn't let apps write to Journal directly, so Flows uses a shortcut you make once:

  1. In Shortcuts, tap the plus button and add Journal's Create Entry action.
  2. Set the entry's text to Shortcut Input, and let the shortcut receive Text.
  3. Name it Flows to Journal, exactly.
  4. In Flows, start a reflection and tap Save reflections to Apple Journal too, then Send a test entry.

This needs iOS 18.1 or later.

Why does a task show more drops than I expected?

Drops come from the task's words, your conditions, what drains you, and how similar things have felt before. Open the task to see why, adjust it under Strain, or rate how it felt when you finish it. Flows learns from your ratings.

Can I use Flows with Claude or another AI app?

Yes. In the AI app, add a custom connector (in Claude, Settings, then Connectors) with the address https://api.flowscalendar.com/mcp. A Flows page opens with a code: open Flows, go to Settings, then Account, then Connect an AI app, enter the code, and choose what the app may do. It can then see your day, plan within your energy, add and move tasks, and check in with you, and its changes appear on all your devices. You can disconnect it in the same place at any time. You'll need a Flows account.

Does Flows work with Siri and Shortcuts?

Yes. Say "What's on today in Flows", "Add a task in Flows" or "Set my energy in Flows", or find Flows' actions in the Shortcuts app to add, finish, move and skip tasks, plan a break, or reflect.

Where is my data, and how do I delete it?

Readings from Apple Health stay on the device that read them. Without an account, everything else does too. With an account, your plans, conditions and setup answers sync through Flows' servers, encrypted, so they appear on your other devices. To delete your account and everything synced to it, go to Settings, then Account, then Delete account. To erase what's on one device, go to Settings, then Privacy, then Erase all Flows data. The privacy policy has the details.
